With the passing of time
I have come to realize that there are truly
spaces that are never filled
by the loss of friends who were very personal
to my mind and heart.
Through the years
do the memories of Cliff and Tom
constantly come to my mind.
Never are they dead in my heart.
I see each of them
special in their concern for me
as the friends they were to me
and yes the love they rendered to me.
Have they been replaced in the void left by their absence?
No one has accomplished that.
Cliff was the short, large man from the deep South
always with a tale of lesson and advice not wanted
but when given
seemed well placed.
He spoke of home and craw-fish
his Mother and his victories in life
never of his losses.
You knew he was special
a special person to know.
The same stories he related never got old
just deeper in meaning.
The straight-laced
IBM type of guy was Tom.
He seemed to have found victories too early in his life
burning, dying as a shooting star.
An anger was present about him that could never be explained.
Tom loved a good meal and good drinks.
Save the waiter or waitress who spoke too much while serving!
He was there to savor the moment
should it be his last.
As Tom’s life was coming to an end
he maintained his pride to the last minute in a VA hospital
wearing a blue blazer that no longer fit;
no one cared about his past.
I miss Tom’s advice to me,
his laughter at my watch
that he thought was such a great sales job
because I had to push a button
to tell time.
His loud laughter rang in the night
raising high his special drink
to wish me and all
the best of life.
I miss both of these men.
They were the special friends of a lifetime
never to be replaced.
They are in my heart each day
with the warmest of love to my dearest friends
Cliff and Tom.
Whenever you both may be
in the great wonder of it all
I am one person
who misses you both
oh……….. ever so much.

“A Great example of the Democratic Party under Obama” copyright 2014 by John J. Rigo, Texas’ Commentator and Poet. Picture courtesy of Google image search. Copyright applies to title.
Over the last five and half years much has been written about the Obama administration and the state of affairs of our country. To find our present state and possible future summed up on one page would be most difficult to find. In my search, I have found such a page on the back cover of a book titled, “The Liberty Amendments” by Mark R. Levin. The page takes several readings for the contents to fully soak in to one’s brain as to the reality of what destruction has occurred to our way of life under Obama in the last five and half years.
I listen to Mr. Levin’s radio show on a regular basis. I am struck and am in awe of his “Passion” for the subject of our government. A passion that I duly note is not present in the majority of our media today in reporting the truth as to what has befallen our country. Following is that page from the back book cover of Mr. Levin’s book:
“I undertook this project not because I believe the Constitution, as originally structured, is outdated and outmoded, thereby requiring modernization through amendments, but because of the opposite——-that is, the necessity and urgency of restoring constitutional republicanism and preserving the civil society from the growing authoritarianism of a federal Leviathan (author’s note: Obama?).
This is not doomsaying or fearmongering but an acknowledgement of the fact. The Statists have been successful in their century-long march to disfigure and mangle the constitutional order and undo the social compact (author’s note: Primary: The Obama Administration?). To disclaim the Statists’ campaign and aims is to imprudently ignore the inventions and schemes hatched and promoted openly by their philosophers, experts, and academics, and the coercive application of their designs on the citizenry by a delusional governing elite (author’s note: The Democratic Party under Obama?).
Their handiwork is omnipresent, for all to see——a centralized and consolidated government with a ubiquitous network of laws and rtwules actively suppressing individual initiative, self interests, and success in the name of the greater good and on behalf of the larger community (author’s note: The pushing forward of Obama care by the Democratic Party and Obama’s use of “executive orders” as it was not intended to be used). Nearly all will be emasculated by it, including the inattentive, ambivalent, and disbelieving.”

Additional Commentary by John J. Rigo, a Texas’ Commentator: The upcoming mid-term elections in November of 2014 will go down in history as one of the most important election periods in the history of the United States. No quarter can be given to Obama and his henchmen with the Democratic Party. All Democrates must be litterally wiped out of each Senate and House race, and by wide margins lose to their Republican counterparts. The two percent “Freeloaders” that put the election in Obama’s column, for two terms, must be convinced that their “Give us more free shit” days are over, unless Obama is rendered harmless by both houses being carried by the Republican Party.
