It was about two years after we broke up that I learned Jane Parrish had died in an auto accident.  This poem is dedicated to her memory.

I awoke this morning with a start.
I had no thought of her
or dream of her for that matter
in over forty-five years.

We were to met again
in the dream.
I was nervous and fearful in seeing her again.

Within the dream I realized she truly was my first love
in discovering passion in my being with a woman.
I guess I had blocked her from my mind
all these years.

As I waited to see her again
I recalled all those nights of long ago
that sweating love making with her.

It was Summer when we met.
Even with the air conditioning at full blast
we both sweated profusely in love making.

She was as tall as me at six feet
blond blue-eyed with beautiful fair skin.
During the time we were together
I could not believe that I was so blessed
in being loved by a woman like that.

I do not know what I did
to lose her love for me.
I am sure
I also blocked that from my mind.

In the dream
we sat across from each other
moving our lips
but unable to form words
at the sight of each other.

We knew.
We felt the surge of our old passions
for each other.

There was nothing to forgive
between us.
There was
only the love to remember
between the both of us.

It was such a great dream.
Loved with such passion
is such a gift to us in our lives.
I awoke from the dream
with tears in my eyes.

When I was young
I never thought I would get old.

When I was young
I believed love from another was eternal.

When I was young
I thought all my dreams would come true.

This day as I look into the mirror
I now see the lines of old age
upon now a unyouthful face.

I have found that true love is a fleeting thing.
I have learned that the paths of life
are filled with broken dreams.

On the day of my Seventh Birthday
I thanked my Lord and Savior for this humble life.

In spite of my aging body
my broken heart
my crushed dreams
the gift of this life
is truly
a beautiful thing.

The following link indicates that Texas is now past 100,000 signatures for its request for Secession from the Union of the United States.  Texas is now one of seven states that has pasted the 25,000 mark in submitting these requests to the White House.  Of course, the requests are as worthless as the petitions they are placed on to Obama’ White House:  http://news.msn.com/politics/seven-states-qualify-for-secession-response-from-white-house-3

My wife and I proudly signed this on-line petition.  My wife was born in Collin County, Texas.  I have been an official resident of Texas since 1963 when I came to Dallas after serving four years of active duty in the United States Air Force.  We both feel that the next four years will bring on the further destruction of the United States as we have known her under the rule of Obama.  I fully support “peaceful and administrative withdrawal from the Union of the United States.”  We can only prayer that such a great day will become a reality.

I believe in America.
Land where my heart lives.
It is a land of accomplished dreams.
A land of courage.
A land that accepts all comers.
A land that gives hope to us all.

America overcomes all those who attempt
to bring evil to her shores.
America is the beacon of freedom to the world.

America is my land.
America is my home.
Keep America strong.
Impeach Obama.

If you do not love
America
please leave her.

John J. Rigo’s name on the Veterans War Memorial in Mabank, Texas

John J. Rigo’s name on Veterans War Memorial in Mabank, Texas

As a senior, I know there is not unlimited time in my life to be in this world.  I believe we all want to leave some part of us in the world.  Something beside a tomb stone in a forgotten grave yard some place.  Perhaps the kind of grave yard where the tomb stone lays flat on the ground.  A place where machines run across huge expanses of tomb stones while mowing.

I am proud to say, there is a place marked for me.  It is a memorial of beauty in an East Texas town of Mabank, Texas.  The memorial is a salute to perhaps, some of the happinest days of my life.  It was my four years of active duty in the Air Force.  Knowing that this place exists where my name is among those who have served our country with honor, brings me a truly wonderful peace.

This will be a first for me in a post on my blog saluting a law enforcement officer on-line.  Even though I have not had the privilege of meeting this gentleman in person, I have had great insight into this individual in speaking with him on several occasions dealing with criminal activities in Henderson County in Texas.  No where will you find a finer law enforcement officer who takes serving the public with pride, as well as passion.  Thank you Major Hillhouse for just being you!

The trees
nature speaking to us
reminding us of a time
in the past.

A time when
men and women
were closer to God.

Closer to the beauty
and sometimes the anger of nature
but still beauty in all of its glory.

Yes the trees still whisper
that we are still a part of all of this.
Nothing has replaced
our relationship with God.

All we need to do
is take the time
to listen to the trees.

I can see the sadness
deep into the eyes of many.
The Death of the United States.

The look of lost of
all we love about our country.
A country that once was
but no longer is.

The land of my Fathers
who died with their blood
to save her from a dictatorship.

I can see the sadness in their eyes
Lost never to be found again
in the rule of Obama.

The below Commentary has now become a reality as of last night November 6th , 2012 when Obama won a second term.  Read on and weep, for once was, a great nation.

Over the last three plus years under the Obama kingship rule, I have visited personally with many individuals on a one-to-one basis regarding their perception of the future of United States.  What I have found is that everyone is terrified of the future for the next ten years, regardless of who wins the elections of November of 2012.  When I say “everyone” let me clarify my statement, my communication has been with individuals in a range of 45 to seniors of my age (70).

The greatest fear by all these individuals comes in the thought that Obama might be reelected.  King Obama and his henchmen have done an adequate job so far in destroying the United States, as we know it today.  The damage to our country by just his one term in office will take at least a decade to overcome.

Obama has effectively brought the county to the very edge of bankruptcy.  A second term of Obama will turn the United States into a lower-end third world country; an event that would place our us over the economic cliff edge; there would be no return for us.  The win of Romney will place us on a path that will take the Republican administration more than one term to set us back on a positive course as a nation.

At this point, many of my friends and associates are preparing for a future time where riots will be common day occurrences.  A crime wave that will overcome every law enforcement agency within the United States borders.  Many individuals that have never thought of owning a gun are now taking concealed carry license classes.  Many of these same individuals are buying home defense weapons such as shotguns and higher calibre weapons.  In these cases, larger inventories of ammunition seems to be a concern to many of them.

The other evening my wife and I discussed facing a future without our Social Security checks, and our long-awaited retirement check from the company that we worked for over a twenty-eight year period in the insurance business.  We discussed our survival based only on our savings.

We have also discussed the possibilities that credit cards will no longer function in this new society before us.  A society where cash will be king, and no longer will credit be extended.  We discussed a government that was so broke and no longer be able to print money, that Social Security checks would no longer be sent.  This will be a time when the millions who depend on food stamps will no longer be getting them.  Those of us that are prudent are storing away canned goods that might last up to six months to prepare for the days ahead, when food will no longer be available on shelves, or become so high-priced that one will not be able to afford such.

When one discusses that we now have a nation where fifty percent of the population is paying for the other fifty percent who do not pay taxes, what happens when the other fifty percent can no longer afford to pay the other half! If this country is blessed enough in Obama losing reelection, there will be difficult decisions ahead to turn this grim tide around.  One, will be to make any citizen born in this country since the time of the Johnson administration, who parents were not citizens, to automatically lose their U.S. Citizenship.  The other hard choice would be to cut literally in half all employees of the U.S. government.  Does this so far seem drastic?  Folks we “are” in drastic times!
